Your Deeds Are Your Monuments...

We have been reading the novel, 'Wonder', by R.J.Palacio. We think it's fantastic and today we decided to write our interpretation of Mr Browne's precept:
Your Deeds are your Monuments

What do you think it means? How does it relate to your life or someone you admire?

  1. Hi Room 4,

What interesting and fascinating ideas you all have around your precept. 'Your deeds are your monuments' is certainly a very powerful thought. Many of you have spoken about what you want to leave behind at Drummond and it was lovely to read so many positive ideas about what 'monuments' you want to leave behind when you move onto high school. So my question is for you ... do your words match your deeds?

Thanks for sharing all of these.

    3. Hi Miss Spragg,

Sometimes my deeds do but sometimes they don´t. Thanks for the good question because it makes you think a lot about what you say.

Your comment is very nice, sometime my words match my deeds but I need to watch what I say.

    5. Hi Mrs Spragg,

Thank you so much for the feedback and a question that has made me really think. My answer would be yes, my words do match my deeds. I think I need to make sure I say the right things when I am playing sports and around in the playground, because sometimes they can be a bit unnecessary.

    6. top of the morning to you Mrs Spragg

Sometimes I don't say or do the right thing.
I've been kind of a jerk so i don't think that my words always match my deeds (more than necessary). It's not humanly possible to be perfect.

    7. Hi Mrs Spragg,

Sometimes my words don’t match my deeds but most of the time they do. Sometimes I just walk away and I think my deeds will be my monuments because I run every day. And I never use any swear words at school or at home.

  4. Hi Mrs Spragg

Thank you for the great comment and the great question. I think that it really got people thinking. My answer would be that my words do match my deeds but only sometimes but I need to work on thinking about what I say before I say it because sometimes I don't think before I speak and these comments can be unnecessary.

  5. Hi Mrs Spragg
That's a hard question but sometimes I am not a great leader because I am sometimes a poor sport and being an athlete you need to be a good sport. Thanks

  6. Hi Mrs Spragg,

I think my word match my deeds sometimes because I don't say things in a positive way.

  7. Top In The Morning To Ya,

Hi my name is Josh and I thank you for reading our writing.
Most of the time I don’t mean to say bad words but I do because some people just make me mad by trying to attack me and I can’t control myself.
