Room 4 begins the 100 Word Challenge...

This week, Room 4 started the 100 Word Challenge for the first time! Today we learnt to write collaboratively on one Google Doc. This was great as we got ideas from other people and it motivated us. The 100WC is a weekly creative writing challenge that students do all over the world. Each week there is a different prompt (it might be a picture, or it might be a sentence).

Teachers from all over the world will comment on our writing, so we are excited to see what they think and where we can improve. Check out our descriptive 100 Word Challenges below...What do you think? What shall we improve for next time? Tomorrow we are going to learn how to put it on our blogs!

  1. Hi Room 4. I really enjoyed reading all your 100 Word Challenge stories. It was amazing to see how a few words could create such different responses. I thought that you used interesting words and I especially enjoyed reading the stories that used speech. They seemed to add a different layer to the story. How did you find writing in a collaborative document? It was great seeing that you also got to comment on each other's work. It is great to work on writing quality comments. :) Mrs Spragg from Yaldhurst Model School

  11. Hi Room 4

My name is Jakob and i'm a year 8 at Oamaru intermediate school.in our class we do the same thing, but we have a time limit. We love doing the 100 word challenge it's a good warm up or way to get you into writing. I have some questions about how you do the 100 word challenge.
-Do you have a time limit.
-Do you have a winner for the best piece.
If one of you replied to this it would be good.
    Thanks.
